I’m No Longer Oblivious to ‘Oblivion’? This Sci-Fi Action Mystery Movie’s Ending Was a Surprise [VIDEO]

Monday, April 22, 3 p.m. UPDATE: Last Thursday I watched ‘Oblivion’ at the 10 p.m. pre-Friday premiere showing at Regal Cinemas at Columbia Center. I was not disappointed. The Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman Sci-Fi thriller was far and away the box office champ with $37 million.
It was gratifying to have the ending a little skewed from what I thought it would be and that is all I’ll say except that it was obvious that ‘Oblivious’ put a lot of their budget into excellent CGI that was by and large, flawless. The movie magic allowed the theatrical escapism to fully engulf my movie viewing experience. ‘Oblivion’ was a great start to what looks to be a cornucopia of Sci-Fi offerings, I’ll have another story on those movies soon.

Thursday, April 18, 5:20 p.m. UPDATE: ‘Oblivion’ lands in theaters tonight but instead of a 12 midnight showing Fairchild and Regal cinemas are being allowed to show the pre-summer potential  blockbuster at 10 p.m.

This is shaping up to be a Sci-Fi rich Spring & Summer in the theaters and ‘Oblivion’ looks to kick-off the movie season on April 19th in grand form. Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman share the screen in this graphic novel adaptation brought to the big screen. The estimated $120 million budget appears to have been spent on the screen if this trailer is any indication.
