Award-Winning Blues Festival in Wallace, Idaho, This Weekend
Last year was the first “Historic Wallace, Idaho, Blues Festival” and that event won the Empire Award 2012 for “Best Blues Event” from the Inland Empire Blues Society. The 2nd year ramps up this Friday, July 12, and goes through the 14th with a pancake blues breakfast Sunday morning.
Having enjoyed blues festivals for years I was excited to see the success for a town that has less then 800 residents. Around 2,000 attendees nearly quadrupled the size of Wallace last year and all indications are for around 3000 people showing up this weekend for the musical FUN! The organizers put together the award winning festival last year in only about 90 days after the well-established “Ritzville Blues Festival” ended operation opening up their dates to another festival.
