Facebook, Duncan Pryce

Tri-Cities Blues band Black Cat Bone will play this Saturday from 7:30 to 10:30 at Ice Harbor Brewery (downtown location at 206 N. Benton St.) after “Heal With a Kiss” to remember victims of cancer. Catch them again at Thunder on the Island (Clover Island Inn) Aug. 7.

Q: How did you come up with your band’s name?

A: Old blues catch phrase, means good luck charm.

Q: What’s the lineup?

A: It’s a 4-piece set, I play guitar and sing, then we have D.B. “Stix” Thompson on drums, Charlie Doll on bass and Doug Wagner on the saxophone.

Q: How long have you all been playing together?

A: The original Black Cat Bone formed in 1998 and played for about 10 years then we separated a bunch and got back together a bunch, officially reforming last spring with the new lineup.

Q: How do you describe your music?

A: Blues with rock feel. Upbeat, yet not too fast to dance to.

Q: Anything you’d like to say about your upcoming shows?

A: Ice harbor on the 13th and Thomas O’niels on the 20th

Q: Other than just playing music did you have any alternative goals?

A: I started playing music as a teenager, it’s always been a life long passion of mine. Why Blues? I guess my heart just leaned on blues.

Q: Who were your influences?

A: Deep Purple, The Mandrakes, Led Zeppelin, Duwalsh, all the old blues bands.
