The woes continue for former Washington State quarterback Ryan Leaf.  Once the first round draft choice of the San Diego Chargers, Leaf flamed out in the NFL and is today facing a prison sentence after being kicked out of a Montana drug treatment program.

Leaf was arrested last April for burglaries related to prescription drugs. He was spending a nine-month stint in the Nexus Treatment Center in Lewistown, Montana as part of a plea bargain. He reportedly threatened a staff member and violated other rules of the program.  He was facing a five-year Department of Corrections sentence for the Montana break-ins and is also having to deal with a 10-year probationary sentence being revoked for a 2010 drug and burglary conviction in Texas.

Leaf was working as the quarterback coach at West Texas A&M in 2005 until he took a leave of absence in 2008 to deal with personal issues. He was arrested in 2010 for burglary related to the theft of prescription medications.

Leaf, originally from Montana, led Washington State University to the Rose Bowl in the 1997-98 season. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist and was drafted second to Peyton Manning in the 1998 NFL Draft. He retired after four unsuccessful seasons, including one with the Dallas Cowboys. His career was more noted for his temper. He often blew up at fans, coaches and teammates. He finished his career with just 14 touchdowns and 36 interceptions.
