M-16 Themed DeWalt Nail Gun Not Real – Created by Tool Innovator
With all the buzz about guns these days, what about this?!
No, it is NOT commercially available, and is NOT officially sanctioned by DeWalt Tools. But a creative innovator has taken a DeWalt nail gun and turned it into an M-16. At first glance some thought it was an AR-15, which is the civilian version of the military weapon, but apparently it is not.
According to the noted tool blogger toolmonger.com, apparently one of these was created in 2003, then the design was advanced by a man named David Wiggins in 2008. Taking various gun parts, he morphed the nail gun and rifle parts into what is called the DeWalt-16.
Pictures of this nail gun have been making the rounds on the internet lately, but it’s apparently not, nor has it ever been, an official creation of DeWalt Tools. We do not have any specific details on how far the nails fly from the DeWalt-16, but a typical cordless nail gun will easily fire a nail through a 2×4 piece of wood with the head being flush with the surface. That is based upon point-blank range.
Some information we received claims this gun will fire a 16-D type nail through a 2×4 at 200 yards, but we could not find any information to confirm that. But boy, doesn’t that creation make the idea of doing home improvement projects sound fun?
We would like to credit toolmonger.com for the information.
