The mission of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) is to provide and protect outstanding natural, scenic, cultural, historic and recreational sites for the enjoyment and education of present and future generations.
What Are the Dutes of Seasonal Staff?
You would be helping visitors at the parks and ensure clean and safe park areas for all to enjoy. Duties include:
• janitorial work
• landscape maintenance
• visitor education and visitor services
What's the Pay for Seasonal Staff at Oregon State Parks?
• Seasonal assistants start at $19,78 per hour.
• Seasonal rangers start at $23.21 per hour.
• Student workers, ages 16 and older, start at $19.77 or more per hour depending on experience.

Most seasonal staff work from April through September. Several of Oregon State Parks' top leaders started their careers as seasonal employees.
Current openings include positions along the coast from Washburne to Cape Lookout; the Willamette Valley including Silver Falls and Detroit Lake; the Columbia River Gorge and Eastern Oregon including Wallowa Lake and Lake Owyhee.
