Tri-Cities is a vibrant collection of communities: of that there's no doubt. I've always loved the true diversity found here, as both liberal and conservative people live and thrive together. Tri-Cities hasn't given up its traditional, agricultural roots, but it has also embraced the modern world, in part due to the way the Hanford site transformed the community.

It had me wondering: could the nature of the Tri-Cities be divined by astrology? No matter how much, or how little, you take astrology seriously, you have to admit, it's a fun idea. So I determined each city's Sun sign (yes, including West Richland), and tried to figure out their most and least compatible Zodiac signs.

As someone who works in Pasco and lives in Kennewick, I feel like these descriptions are fairly accurate. Apparently I'd do well in West Richland, too, as a Gemini myself. I do find it interesting that Pasco and Kennewick, Richland and West Richland, both complement each other. It all balances out - just like our communities actually do.

One note I feel important to make: There is no true "birth day" for a city. No one ever records the exact date that a place transforms from a temporary living situation to an established community. That is especially true here, where our communities have a long, deep history of native peoples before settlers ever arrived and put down their roots. For the sake of simplicity, I used the date of incorporation for each city - but know that such a date doesn't truly encapsulate its true "birth." A true astrological reading of the cities would require a much more complex and thorough research of history.
